TRADE COUNCIL
India ASEAN Trade Council is serving as a resource centre for ASEAN Member States and India to fill the knowledge gaps that currently limit the opportunities for cooperation. The IATC is closely working with the missions of ASEAN countries and follows the aim and mission of the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) to undertake and disseminate policy research and provide analytical policy recommendations for promoting trade and commerce.
Overall objective of IATC is to strengthen India’s partnership with ASEAN in its realization of the ASEAN trade Community. The IATC undertakes regular networking activities with relevant organizations and companies in India and ASEAN Member States, with the aim of providing up-to-date information, data resources and sustained interaction to promote the ASEAN-India Trade relationship.

UN INTERNATIONAL DAY OF MULTILATERALISM AND PEACE - 2024
The UN Day of Multilateralism and Peace was celebrated at an event hosted by the newly appointed Honourable Rakesh Rajagopal, Trade Commissioner Asia Pacific Region of the Indian Economic Trade Organization (IETO). In attendance were a representative array of dignitaries from various ASEAN nations, the various ministries, IETO, and our own organization, as well as visitors from China and the United States. The dignitaries included:

WELCOME TO INDIA ASEAN SUMMIT 2022 BANGALORE INDIA
India ASEAN Summit 2022 was held in Reva University Bangalore with the Ambassadors of the ASEAN countries namely Myanmar, Laos, Cambodia and the representation of the Ministry of External Affairs and the Indian Economic Trade Organization.

India ASEAN Summit - 2023
The India ASEAN Summit - 2023 held on September 11 at Chennai's Hotel Ramada Plaza, marked a significant step in bolstering trade ties between India and ASEAN nations. The event garnered support from esteemed dignitaries including Ambassador of Myanmar H.E. Mr. Moe Kyaw Aung, Dr. Venkatachalam M IFS, Head of Branch Secretariat Ministry of External Affairs, alongside various other delegates from the Consulate of Thailand, Korea, Malaysia, Singapore. Strengthened by agreements like the ASEAN-India Free Trade Agreement, both regions are committed to reducing trade barriers and tariffs, fostering an environment conducive to enhanced commerce and investment flows. The newly inaugurated India ASEAN Trade Council office in Chennai adds impetus to facilitating trade activities for Indian exporters, with exciting upcoming interactions and leadership transitions within ASEAN.
ASEAN CHAIR CAMBODIA
Cambodia currently holds the rotating chair position of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) Cambodia assumed the chairmanship of ASEAN for 2022. 2021 was tumultuous as ASEAN was challenged on many fronts. Besides the pandemic and its consequent economic downturn, ASEAN had to face the overthrow of democracy in Myanmar, continue to deal with an adamant China on the Code of Conduct (COC) in the South China Sea (SCS), and face challenges to its centrality.

INDIA ASEAN PEACE CONFERENCE
India ASEAN Peace Conference 2022 was held on the backdrop of the International Peace Day in New Delhi at Hotel Samrat. The event was chaired by the Trade Commissioner Delhi Chapter Dr. Vishal Gaur and various PSU's and the representation from the Embassy of Peoples Republic of Laos.
